Cathedral HS Class of '62 - 50th Reunion

August 17 and 18 - "Dear Old Cathedral, Here's to you! Here's to your Class of '62!" What a great weekend! Our 50th Class reunion began with a golf outing Friday at Saddlebrook (roughly 40 of us participated), and continued with a mixer at the present Cathedral HS campus on 56th Street. A Saturday afternoon Mass was said at St. Peter and Paul Cathedral, dedicated to the living and deceased members of our Class of '62. Afterwards we walked across the street to 1416 N. Meridian Street and entered the hallowed halls of our old Cathedral gymnasium . . many of my classmates, for the first time since graduation in May of 1962. The "old Cathedral High School" is now the Indianapolis Diocese Catholic Center, but still holds many fond memories! A reception and dinner provided by Sahm's catering was followed by an evening of stories, memories,  and dancing to the music of our longtime DJ friend, Reb Porter. Br. Douglas Roach,CSC, Principal, was in attendance.  . . didn't give any detentions, thank Heavens, and Brother Roy Smith, CSC, also graced us with words of reflection and inspiration. Dick Dullaghan and our cheerleaders, Bob Desautels, Antoinette, and Nancy led us in  a spirited rendition of "Dear Old Cathedral"; Joe Dezelan, Reunion Chairman, was introduced as "2012 Cathedral Man of the Year"; and finally our classmates and their spouses danced the night away.  Many friendships were renewed as we reminisced well into the night.
