"Runnin' Down the River" . . . Sunday, April 22, 1138 people participated in Fleet Feet/ Premier Racing's training runs along the Scioto River in downtown Columbus. The course was a 3.1 mile (5K) loop with 226 completing the 5K; 264 opted to run the 10K (2 loops); Rose Anne and I completed the 15 K (3 loop) course along with 646 other runners/walkers in preparation for the Columbus Cap City Half Marathon, May 5.  We enjoyed running the course together again using a run 5 minute - race walk 3 minute plan. We completed the 15K in 1:49:50 with an 11:49 pace. Weather was good . . 42 degrees, partly cloudy to sunny with a slight wind picking up at the end of the race. Jenni's yogurt was a welcome treat at the end.  Oh, by the way, did anyone see the old Clipper ship docked by the starting line?

April 1 . . . "Kick-off" of the 2012 golf season at the Medallion Club with our friends Rick & Sue, Steve & Donna. We all broke par for 9 holes . . . . . April Fool!

Riley & Alexis at Fort Rapids . . . Later in the afternoon following the Scioto Mile(s) race we joined Cara, Jim, Riley and Alexis on the east side of Columbus at Fort Rapids Water Park inside the Hilton Complex. Riley and Alexis were beginning "Spring Break" and had a "Splashing Good Time"!

Scioto Mile(s) 10K . . . March 31, downtown Columbus along the Scioto River. Rose Anne and I ran the 10K together at a nice 11:41 pace finishing in 1:12:27. Weather was comfortable, a cool 42 degrees and cloudy with 810 run/walkers electing to do the loop course twice for the 10K and another 800 plus opting for the one loop 5K. We ran the race with a run 5 minute; walk 3 minute plan. This seemed to work well, was a PR for the distance for Rose Anne. I completed the event as the oldest runner. We will probably stick with the plan for the 15K in 3 weeks! A fun day discovering new territory for us in Columbus!

After the Bulldog Jog we stopped at Bagel Fair then met Joe and Judy at Barnes and Noble, saw my bookstore colleagues, then continued a great visit with Joe & Judy at Ted's Montana Grill in Clay Terrace. Happy Birthday, Joe!

Bob and Rosie complete the "2012 Bulldog Jog 5K"

Trip's sister was also at the "Bulldog Jog" with her owners. "Blue's" personal transport was on hand. Rosie almost brought a baby bulldog home for Maddie who thinks friends and bulldogs are over-rated! This is MY house, Thank You!

Ran with Blue . . and saw our friends too!! Saturday, March 24, Rosie and I ran the 20th Annual "Bulldog Jog 5K" on campus at Butler University, running through campus to Michigan Road, north to the canal, and along the Indianapolis Art Museum to the north edge of campus, past Holcomb Garden and finished on the turf at the Butler Bowl. Mascots, "Blue" and "Trip" were at the staging area to greet the participants. Blue couldn't wait to get in his "Tail Wagon and head to Butler University for the race. There were Bulldogs everywhere! New to the event this year was an inaugural 1-mile dog walk presented by Holistic Select and City Dogs Grocery which garnered nearly 200 dog walkers. A clear, Sunny 52 degree day prompted a fast race for both of us. Rose Anne completed the event five minutes quicker than her first "Bulldog Jog".
