"April flowers bring May . . . . . Half-Marathons? This past May, Rosie and I traded our beloved Indy "500" Half Marathon for the Capital City Half Marathon in Columbus Ohio. 5900 runners participated in the event on May 7, compared to the 35,000 athletes who run the Indy. The 8th annual Columbus event took us through the short north, German Village, the Ohio State University campus and finished in the Arena District. It was a good race and gave us an opportunity to see some sights we hadn't experienced. Both of us bettered a previous finishing time, however, neither of us set personal 1/2 marathon PRs. Great weather - 56 degree start, 64 degree finish and sunny in central OH-IO! Definitely not the nostalgia of "Back Home in Indiana" and both of us felt the effects of NOT having the Ken Long "Bricks 2 Bricks" training!
