Heat wave . . . . It is actually 1 degree "above zero" with a Wind Chill of 12 degrees "above zero"! First time we have been above zero in both categories since Sunday. Treadmill has been the method of choice for our workouts; boring, but better than getting frost bite! Drove to Mansfield Monday evening w/ Chris for Contest rehearsal. They have more snow on the ground than we have. Singing Buckeyes had Pizza Night last evening. Fun evening! Quite a sight . . . barbershoppers singing the "Old Songs" with their mouths full of pizza.

Snow continues today . . then back to the deep freeze . . . 4 1/2 to 6 inches of snow fell over night making it tough to get to St. John Neumann. Another 2-3 inches fell before afternoon on Sunday. Lots of snow shoveling! I registered Rose Anne and I for the Ross Heart Health 5K February 8 at Easton Town Center. We ran that one last year. Fun Race with lunch following at at D&K. We also worked on the race calendar for 2014; looks like 14-18 races coming up!

. . . . and then came snow! The Almanac predicted a tough winter and it has been correct so far! Snow began over night with stiff, swirling winds creating drifts, one of which happened to center in our drive. Never fear, Rose Anne and I knocked it out in short order. More snow coming down, however. We are not done! Time for a warm-up; no traveling today!

Deep Freeze - Temperatures started dropping again Tuesday, 01/21, with below zero windchill each day through next Wednesday. This morning, 01/23, it was 3 degrees with windchill of -17. I shoveled part of the drive, then came in to warm up. Good day for hot chocolate, treadmill and reading. Grandson Brandon's 13th Birthday today; God Daughter, Ellen Anne's 20th B-Day today!

Singing Buckeye Award and Installation Banquet . . . 30 Buckeyes and 19 guest enjoyed fun, food and song last Friday, January 10, at the Spaghetti Warehouse in downtown Columbus. Rose Anne and I attended with Chris and Barbara Rores. I was recognized for my recent commitment to become Bulletin Editor of the Buckshots, a weekly electronic bulletin. I continue to do the Kokomo Har-Mo-Notes as well.Friday, January 10, 2014
Digging out again . . . 3+ inches of fresh, wet snow fell overnight. We were up at 6:00 and had driveway dug out by 6:35 a.m. Last night the Bulldogs fell in Big East defeat again. . . let an eleven point lead evaporate in the final 3:35; losing in 2OTs to DePaul. Oh well, this the Big East . . tough conference, 3 losses in OT so far. We're looking forward to Singing Buckeye Banquet tonight.
