New Golf Buddy . . . . Yes, I finally found a golf buddy in Ohio! He's no Tipton Senior Golf guy but I think I can take his $. John Duncan says "you better get in all the golf you can with this guy right away. I don't think you'll get much money out of him this summer!" Mike Dollens replies . . "Be careful, this guy looks like he has ice water in his veins and a cold, cold heart! He'll take your money and laugh!" Cecilia adds . . . "don't know how much company he'll be come spring!" Oh well . . . he's probably just a drifter anyway! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Before & After . . . . When Rose Anne attended the December Ladies night in The Shores she inquired about hair stylists and found one at the gathering, Jan Sanders, a neighbor. This morning Rose Anne went to the Ultimate Image Salon for a consultation, hair cut, style, and possibly a different look . . . and "PRESTO" . . we have Rosie BEFORE . . . and Rosie AFTER.
An exciting new look . . . wonder if Riley will recognize his Nana!

Snow? . . . . What snow? Maddie's nice & warm and everyone is enjoying Christmas!

Christmas at Cara & Jim's . . . It was cold and sunny when we embarked on our journey from Lewis Center OH Sunday morning for Jim and Cara's house in Franklin IN. Wes and Jennifer had just left 14" of snow in Omaha NE and endured a tedious journey back to Tipton. We all arrived mid afternoon and enjoyed Christmas together with Riley and Alexis. Wes & Jennifer's snowfall followed them to central Indiana; fortunately it only left 4" by dark. Maddie, Rosie, and I were glad we elected to stay in the Candlewood Suites, Greenwood before returning to Ohio on Monday! Riley joined us at the motel before our departure and wondered how Nana & Popo brought their bed from Columbus!

T'was Christmas Day . . . when all through the house, not a creature was stirring . . . . . well, very few creatures! Rosie, Maddie, and I had a quiet Christmas together in our new home. Pictures were hung in the office with care, Maddie had a Christmas bath, and a nice Christmas pork chop for the three of us to share! "Blessed Christmas to all . . . . . and to all a good night!"

Ella & Grandma . . . . Mike and his new "sticks" . . . Mindy & Aiden

"Merry Christmas from our family to yours"

Hinkle family Christmas in Ohio . . . . We were Blessed this past weekend with a visit from Mike, Mindy and Louie's families. Unfortunately, Louie was unable to make the trip. A light layer of snow blanketed the Columbus area on Saturday morning, December 19th. Our family arrived Saturday afternoon, shared Christmas with us and journeyed back to Indianapolis and Tipton Sunday morning. Mike had out patient surgery on Monday which was successful. It was great to visit with everyone . . . Aiden and Ella were happy with their gifts from Santa! Grandson, Ryan Hinkle wasn't too sure what to think of his gift from Mindy and Chris . . a UConn Huskie shirt. Mike was excited to get his new "sticks", wanted to find an indoor golf center immediately, and announced his clubs were going to ride home in the front seat with him!

"Jingle Bells" & "Rudolph" . . . . Rose Anne and I celebrated the beginning of the Christmas season with two runs. 3300 runners and walkers participated in the 23rd Annual Jingle Bell 5K fundraiser for the Arthritis Foundation, running walking and "jingling" through downtown Columbus on Saturday, December 5th! A spirited 84 runners in their Santa Hats and Rudolph noses took to the streets of Westerville for the Rudolph Run 5K on Sunday afternoon kicking off the Westerville Sertoma Club Christmas parade . . . okay, so we didn't wear our noses but it was great to be in a parade again . . . . I've missed waving to the crowds! Rose Anne swore I was trying to kill her that weekend . . . . we ran the two races, walked 3.5 miles back to the car after the Rudolph Run, and decorated the house for Christmas . . . all in 48 hours! HO! HO! HO! MERRY CHRISTMAS! The running Christmas tree was a "hit" with the parade spectators!

"Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!"

Thanksgiving 2009

A weekend of Thanksgiving began with Jack and Anne flying from Florida Wednesday afternoon to be with us. Thanksgiving Day began with the Pilgrim Progress 4 miler at the Polaris Fashion Center (where Barnes & Noble is located), continued with a nice Thanksgiving meal and Cara, Riley, Jim, and Alexis joined us Thursday evening. The ladies shopped Friday morning and Columbus received the first thin blanket of snow of the season Friday morning. Wes and Jennifer joined us Friday as we all celebrated Thanksgiving Friday evening. Riley is still looking for Popo's pool . . .
